This topic comes at a time when fear and tragedy is sweeping the newsfeed in the United States. Federal agents shot and killed an de-armed man who was trying to help a fallen lady at a protest. Leading up to this event, we saw a 220% increase in border patrol agents in the last year, all working for ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement). They have been given a quota by the current administration to arrest 3,000 people every day for not following immigration laws. It is putting everyone who was not born here in a state of perpetual anxiety, and for those of us who embrace our immigrant family members and neighbors, it is heartbreaking and infuriating to see what is happening. There have been tragedies like this in the past where those in authority have unrightfully killed a citizen, but the aggressors were held accountable and as a country we could all agree that it was wrong. This time is different. This time, the federal government is defending the murder, and blaming the citizens.
As a new mother, I’m scared for the direction it seems our country is going in. As a spiritual practitioner, I don’t know what role to play in current events. As a citizen, I feel a strong surge to protect and stand with my family and neighbors. And then we see Helium in Taurus.
The nature of Helium is neutral. It has 2 protons, 2 electrons and 2 neutrons. It is non-reactive and stable. This is the stance I want to embody in these times. The Taurus qualities of Helium. Maintain neutrality, be a force of stability, while keeping my heart lighter than air. Not as a deflection or avoidance, but to be ready to act when the right catalyst presents itself. Helium does not react unless it is acted upon. I will stay stable for my family. Maintain this foundation for as long as I can while Isha grows. Continue to be a force of good in the ways that I can while staying neutral. Unless and until we hear the call.
