Day 1: Third Eye Chakra
January 29 @ 8:00 am - 8:30 am
The Third Eye (Ajña) chakra is considered the Command Center. The Sanskrit word Ajña translates as to know, to obey, to follow. It is associated with the pineal gland, and allows us to transcend the individual Ego and move into expanded awareness.
We start with the 3rd Eye Chakra so that we can purify our mind, and open our inner vision to what is happening throughout the other chakras in our body. It is possible that painful, stagnant, or confronting energy is crystalized in the energy channels of our lower chakras, and so having a clear mind to objectively process and release these energies is very beneficial. With an awakened Third Eye, it is possible to intuitively know and understand the cause and effect of circumstances. Therefore, we strive to keep this channel clear and active through the emotional balancing process.
Each chakra is associated with an internal organ along with hormonal glands, representing the physical manifestation of this energy center. By performing the Jin Shin Do neck and forehead release, we will open the energy flow to our brain and pineal gland by way of the Gallbladder Meridian system; specifically where the channels move through the head and neck. By using intention, conscious awareness, and light pressure, we can release any tension that has built up in these channels, and clear a path to balance the emotions associated to them.
The emotional sound vibration that we will be balancing today is Confusion (bhrāṃ) and Dharma (dhaṃ).
Confusion represents our irrational and indecisive thoughts. We balance them with the energy of Dharma; our own ideal of perfection. Dharma is righteous living according to our own path and purpose. When we are living in our dharma, confusion can’t sink its hooks in. The experience of a confused mind is a sign post to return to our dharma.
