A Guru from my lineage would say, “you don’t have to believe, you only have to suspend disbelief.” This was his suggestion to those who were skeptical about the effects of mantras and meditations. I love this phrase, because it eloquently points to a fundamental requirement when attempting to access what is beyond the veil; a lack of Ego. It is the same lesson found in the story of pouring tea into a full cup. It’s not that the divine isn’t eagerly waiting to greet you, it is that we are not willing to be wrong about our preconceptions, nor open ourselves up to an unknown reality that we cannot be in control of.
Matias’s blog mentions Jupiter and Saturn as having such dense hydrogen that it presents as a metallic form. This happens because the Hydrogen protons are squished together so tightly that the electrons are free to roam around in a sea of other electrons, creating a Liquid Metal type substance. By letting go of our preconceived notion about Hydrogen as a gas, we can see the extraordinary beyond the ordinary. Nothing has changed about hydrogen; it was always 1 proton and 1 electron. But in certain conditions and after taking a step back, we can observe the sea of existence it is creating.
With consciousness, it is the same. When we create certain conditions to alchemize energy using geometry (yantras), elements (puja offerings, water, fire, earth, etc.), vibration (chanting), a focal point (stone, statue, etc.), we can condense energy and consciousness into the desired form and use that for transformation and manifestation. With time, practice, and refinement, we can merge our consciousness with the greater sea of awareness. We can become one of the electrons in the expansive universe, connected and flowing.
I am excited for when Isha can communicate with words. Being so recently born, the veil is thin for her. I am so curious to see if she remembers 🙂
