Baby: Momma, what is death?
Mother: Death is a transition, just like birth.
Baby: Will I die some day?
Mother: If we’re lucky, you’ll experience multiple deaths in your lifetime. Your body is changing all the time. You are a baby now, but your body will go through many deaths to grow into an adult form. Just like this, your ego will need to die multiple times so that your supreme awareness can shine through more fully.
Baby: Will it hurt?
Mother: It can hurt sometimes, but only because we are attached to the way things used to be. Just like how it hurts when we pull a sticker off of your arm.
Baby: I remember that. It hurt and I cried a lot. But you comforted me and removed it as gently as you could.
Mother: For some parts, I waited until the adhesive was loose before I took it away. Keep this in mind; if you are not ready, we don’t have to go through the change. But remember how nice it was to have the sticker off? Your skin could breathe.
Baby: Yes, and my clothes stopped getting snagged on the sticker and hurting me.
Mother: That’s right. Just like this we go through different removals, different deaths. Until one day we go through the big death of our body ending it’s process, and our awareness can be fully free of its confines. After that, you will find a new body just like the one you’re in now, and attach to the chakra mechanisms. Attach and remove, inhale and release, experiment and transcend.
Baby: It sounds like a fun game!
Mother: It is! May we all remember it as such.
